Part 2

He is the most intelligent criminal lawyer there is in Delhi and he prided himself on that fact. But unfortunately for him due this very reason he was not lucky enough to fall into easy money. Yes, he was allowed an allowance that gets deposited in his account every month. But it was not what he had in mind. His plan was to control the Raizada empires money.
He thought the gods had finally smiled upon him when he got to know that the girl he unknowingly saved from slipping on the temple stairs was Ms. Anjali Singh Raizada. He made sure that he was extra polite to her and his words were honey coated. He was hoping to get a way into the Raizada industries as their legal staff and from there he had a plan to make himself slowly control the money by getting into ASR’s inner circle and by winning his trust.
But destiny had smiled upon him when he realized that the silly little girl he had saved and sweet talked had a serious crush on him. He used the knowledge to his advantage and that ended in their grand wedding with all the Raizadas doting on him and blessing him for a bright and long future. But his plans to become a part of the Raizada industries were cut short by his saale-saab the very next morning after their wedding.
As usual the breakfast was a family meal at the Raizada Mansion and all the ladies were fussing over the newest addition to the family. “Bas RaniSaheba, no more please.” “little more Shyamji, I don’t know if you will be able to have a proper lunch or not. So please have some more.” Immediately his lawyer brain started working and he took this opportunity to make his first move, ASR was not at the table yet. ”It’s ok ranisaheba, I don’t have any cases today, I didn’t pile up on work as I wanted time for the wedding. May be I can go with saalesaab and help them in the legal department.” He said keeping his voice casual but not too casual.
As soon as he made the comment Aakash looked up and most likely would have responded in the positive if not for the commanding voice that answered for him.
“It’s ok Jeejaji, our legal staff is on top of things. Besides, your specialization is criminal law and what will we have in a corporate industrial environment that will interest you. Di and you can spend this time together as we know when you get back to work you might not get a break like this again.”  And everybody at the table nodded to this.
With that ASR had put him out of the Raizada industries gates, but he hadn’t given up and was trying time and again without causing much suspicion. But other than that life was good.
But lady luck seemed to be on his side again as today he got a call from Aman to help them with a criminal case for one of their employees. He finally got what he was waiting for an entry in the treasury and now he will make sure that he becomes the treasurer of the empire his Saalesaab had built. He took his coat and walked out of his office with a smile on his lips and headed towards the hospital which housed the victims of the accident. Meet Mr.Shyam Manohar Jha, Delhi’s most successful criminal lawyer, very intelligent, very cunning, dangerously sly, to own his Saalesaab’s empire is his only aim in life…. for now.
***********
She tried time and again to knock some sense into the brain of her baby sister. And she had failed time and again to do so. Khushi was born a selfless soul and would go to any extent to see others smile and she would happily put her comfort and well being aside to help others. As if that was not enough she had chosen to become a doctor and after that Khushi has been working like a slave. It was not possible for Khushi to ignore ANYBODY in need. But this was the limit the girl had been at work for 36 hrs straight and showed no signs of wanting to come home.
She remembered the day Khushi had come into her life. It was a rainy night and after dinner just when they were settling in for bed, a police officer had come and talked to her parents. Her mother had broken down and her father had consoled her mother a little and then had left with the officer hurriedly. Very very late into the night her father had returned with his shawl wrapped around some bundle in his arms to shield her from the rain.
When the shawl came off she had seen the most beautiful little girl, with very very sad eyes and the little angel was introduced as her baby sister. After feeding little Khushi some food they had all settled down to sleep for a bit before the next morning. Few minutes later she had heard some sobbing from the corner of the room and she had realized it was Khushi. She had just gone to the little shivering sobbing bundle and hugged her tight and cradled her in her lap. Khushi looked up to see her and then hiccupped and said “JJIJJI” and cried some more. And that very moment she had decided that she never ever wanted to see Khushi cry or be troubled or even mildly bothered about anything again. And any trouble would have to get past her first to touch her baby.
But now it was time to be the strict older sibling and drag the crazy girl home if she had to. With this resolution in mind she stepped into the hospital compound and walked straight towards the resident’s rest area. Meet Dr. Payal Gupta, practicing psychiatrist, sensible, smart, strong and very protective of her family. She may not make much noise but when she speaks she rules in the Gupta household.
As soon as Payal knocked and entered the room the occupants looked at her and some recognized her and smiled and waved and Payal waved back. Just when Payal thought she will walk up to one of them and ask them about Khushi, her eyes fell on a figure who had put its head on the desk and was sleeping and drooling. Payal smirked and headed in the direction of the desk. When she reached there she just took the open water bottle in the sleeping person’s hands, took some water and chucked it on the person’s face.
“what.. check the bp, no take the pulse, no do cpr first…” the sleeping figure woke with a start and when things were clearer, “bloody Gupta sisters… they have decided to make my life hell.” the person muttered and glared at Payal.
Payal ignored the comment and just said “Where is she?”
Before answering Payal, the person just looked around the room taking in the surroundings and said more loudly than necessary “ooh-hoo my head is aching I wish I could have some coffee.” Immediately the room went into a flurry of activity and all the male figures hurried here and there to coffee machines and cream and milk counters. This went on till a hot steaming cup of coffee was thrust into the hands of the person who had wished for it by a young man. The young man left looking like he was the first man to walk on the moon after he was thanked with a smile for his efforts.
Payal just raised her eyebrows at the now fresh looking coffee savoring queen in front of her. And the queen just smirked and said “common we will drug her and take her home.”
Payal needn’t have come all this way as she was planning to do that herself as soon as she woke up from her beauty nap thought the queen. She had decided the dosage of the drug too, it would have knocked Khushi out completely for a day, to hell with oaths and consciences her best friend needed rest and if this was the way do make her rest then she would do it without out batting an eyelid. She would like to see anyone try to stop her. Meet Dr.Lavanya Kashyap, rich spoilt brat for everyone else but for Khushi, they were soul sisters so much so that Lavanya had decided to become a “stupid” doctor to be with Khushi, giving up her dream of majoring in fashion designing.
