Part 1

And……She smiled….. a smile that started in the heart and had an effect on all the organs of the body and created a warm fuzzy feeling in the hearts of all the people who witnessed it. That smile was probably the reason that people craved to be around her whether they are people from her mohalla or people in the hospital where she works or people she meets at the temple or shopkeepers where she does her purchases or just people in general. Such is the purity, innocence and love that oozes from her smile. This is probably also the reason that her adopted family dotes on her probably an insy-winsy bit more than their own biological daughter. Not that her Jiji resents it, more like recognizes it and encourages it.
The reason for her smile was the picture in front of her eyes a young new mom who had gone through a very critical c-section and almost left this world was holding the fruit of her labor in her hands for the first time and the little bundle of joy just seemed to recognize her the second she touched him. They both had been rescued from a horrible accident and rushed to the hospital. It was has a heart touching moment for any bystander and more so for the doctor who had fought to keep the baby in this world after its traumatic entry into the world. Khushi sighed and thanked her beloved Devi Maiyya for her blessings. Meet Dr.Khushi Kumari Gupta, newest resident neonatologist, of the mercy memorial hospital, New Delhi, India.

And… THE MAN yelled…. “AMAN!! Get in here, NOW!”..and everybody who heard him roar shivered and thanked their lucky stars that it was not them that was being summoned. Aman hurriedly walked back into the glass office that he had come out not less than 10 minutes ago. “Yes, Sir?” Aman enquired.
“Where the heck is the check book, Dammit ?” Aman sighed(very inaudibly) and repeated the answer he gives his boss every time he asks this question for the nth time. “In the first draw on your right hand side sir, probably under you ipad or any files that may have been put there?” THE MAN opened the draw with such force that the ipad screen almost cracked by bouncing off the walls of the draw. The impatient MAN pulled out things from the draw and chucked them on the desk till he found what he was looking for. Pulled it out and signed a check and handed it to Aman and said “Hand it to the hospital where Mohan’s wife and son are admitted, fill it with the hospital charges for their care and add some more as donation to the hospital.”
“Ok Sir” this thought Aman is the reason I bare with his boss’s tempermental persona and tantrums. Because after working with his boss for a couple of months he had realized that no matter what his boss does, he will back you when it really matters but you have to first prove worthy of his thoughts. “Did you file the FIR against that person?” asked his boss interrupting Aman’s thoughts. Aman fidgeted in his place not knowing how to tell his boss what he heard and also sort of knowing what his boss’s reaction will be to what he is going to say.
“AMAN… I don’t have all day Dammit!”
“Sir, the thing is the SP adviced not to file the FIR as the culprit has heavy political background and they might cause more trouble for Mohan’s family.”
“Aman, did the idiot drink and drive?” Asked his boss in a low slow and very cold tone and Aman knew when his boss talks in this tone it is more dangerous than the high pitched yelling. So instead of answering Aman just gulped and bobbed his head in a positive answer and kept bobbing it to affirm his answer.
“Did the b*****d not cause the accident that could have killed a mother and a child?” he asked in a tone lower and slower and deadly than his previous question and this time Aman bobbed his head till it was ready to roll off his shoulders.
“Appoint the best lawyers, buy the politicians that support him and put the b*****d behind bars, show your face only when it’s done.” With that said, he picked up his jacket and walked out of the office and closed the door with such force that Aman was amazed that all the glass windows did not shatter. Meet Arnav Singh Raizada, multi millionaire, CEO of the Raizada industries and estates, head quarters New Delhi, India.
